What a check covers
A check is done on phone browsers with Nigerian English settings, because that is how most readers reach the site. The main check was on 08.10.2026 on Android Chrome, with eight screenshots saved; a second look on 13.10.2026 covered the app offer, the Sports menu, prices and the betslip, and the site with iPhone Safari settings.
For each route we record the screen we start on, every tap, what the screen shows and where a new user is likely to get stuck. That last point becomes the “Check here” stop on our route diagrams.

What we never do in a check
We do not complete a registration, make a deposit, request a withdrawal or place a bet. That keeps the check repeatable and keeps our own money out of it, but it also sets limits: payout times, withdrawal limits and anything behind the identity check are never described as tested. Where a page needs those facts, it quotes the site, support or independent reviews and says so.
How each fact is marked
Every 1win figure on the site carries one of five labels, shown as a coloured badge in our status tables:
| Label | What it means |
|---|---|
| Seen on site | We saw it on a 1win.ng screen during the check |
| Stated by site | The site says it, but we did not test it by action |
| Told by support | A 1win live-chat answer, with the date |
| From reviews | Reported by independent reviews, not by our check |
| Not checked | We could not see it without an account or money |
A figure without a label is our own example maths, such as a wagering sum in naira, and the page presents it as an example.
The six score areas and their weights
The overall score for 1win is the average of six route scores, each weighted equally at one sixth. We keep the weights equal because a reader can get stuck at any of the six stages, and a fast sign-up does not make up for a payout that cannot be planned.
| Area | Weight | What lifts the score | What lowers it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sign up | 1/6 | Short form, +234 number, clear code field | Hidden consent, extra steps |
| Log in | 1/6 | Two clear ways in, a recovery link | No help page for errors |
| Deposit | 1/6 | Naira methods, a visible minimum | Methods without their own limits |
| Withdraw | 1/6 | Limits and times shown up front | Everything behind verification |
| App | 1/6 | Install steps on the site itself | No store listing to check, unclear updates |
| Support | 1/6 | A person replies within minutes | Bot only, no FAQ |
Each area is scored from 1 to 10 in steps of 0.1, by both editors separately; where we differ by more than 0.5 we go back to the notes and screenshots. On 14.10.2026 the six scores were 7.6, 7.3, 7.0, 6.4, 7.0 and 6.4, which average to 7.0.
Scores on single pages
Pages about one part of 1win, such as the casino, the bonus or the payment methods, carry their own score. It uses the same scale and the same marking of facts, but only the criteria of that page: for the bonus, how complete and plannable the terms are; for the casino, how easily a game can be found and tried in demo. These page scores are not part of the overall average.
What can change a score
A score moves when 1win.ng changes a screen we checked, when support gives a new answer, or when a reader shows us something we missed with a dated screenshot. Commission never changes a score: we are paid when a reader opens an account through our links, as our note on how this site is paid explains, and that payment does not depend on what we write.
When a page changes, its “What changed on this page” list at the bottom shows the date and the reason.
Who does the check
Chinedu Eze runs the phone checks and writes the guides; Halima Musa compares every 1win figure with the notes and screenshots and recalculates the examples. Both are described on the page about the team. Questions about the method go to [email protected].
